Angry NTLDR Error Message

I am building a new PC for the first time and have got as far the powering on, configuring BIOS and setting disk up correct with NTFS and partitions. I now want to load Windows XP as my operating systems, but when I boot the machine I get "NTLDR not found" - I have nothing in CDROM drive or Floppy Drive - Any ideas ??

No, I am trying to load Windows XP, but then get the error message as stated then I have no option but to reboot.

If you have no OS installed and nothing in both the CD-ROM or the floppy, what do you expect the machine to boot from?

set the cdrom as the first boot device in the BIOS, slam the XP disc in the drive and you're off mate

ouch...that was a little harsh

what Mooky was delicately putting is you still need to boot to something, either a boot disk or the CD-ROM...

NTLDR is short for NT loader, it's looking for your OS

Sorry for the harshness man. It was completely unnecessary. Anyway, kowalski's got your back. Do as he says and you should be set. If you need any more help post again. Again, sorry about that, something just ticked me off a little while back, but it's no excuse to take it out on you.

It wasn't that harsh, just a little short. He's probably off doing his install.

Cool OS

i don't think it was harsh at all.

think about it. if you are going to load up an OS and have nothing in the floppy (not needed for XP) or the CD tray, where is the OS coming from, duh, unless you previously copied the files to the hard drive for install.

prolly immaculate installation.

sorry, couldn't resist.
