IRQ 5 assignment on a 8k7a+

Hello all,

After alot of trying I seem to have a problem with newest 8k7a+ bios'es. It seems that IRQ 5 doesn't get freed anymore even though all on board audio is disabled (legacy audio, ac97 audio, soundblaster). I also discovered that with bios version 1320 (and maybe the one after it too) it gets assigned again.

Did anyone notice this or has a solution for this ?

Well, I have a problem with my NIC + SbLive which are on the same IRQ now ;/

IRQ Listing (ACPI disabled)

IRQ 3 = TechnoTrend DVB-S card
IRQ 9 = SBLive & NIC
IRQ 10 = HPT RAID controller
IRQ 11 = Graphics Card

the rest are the 'usual' devices on the usual IRQ's.
Even though it wouldn't have been problematic in my opinion this IRQ should be freed when it isn't used by the onboard sound system. It isn't used when all sound is disabled in the bios when I use the old version 1320. But that one lacks alot of options plus the support for newer Athlon CPUs. So I guess there is a 'bug' there...

Have you a "reserve IRQ for sound and Video" Option you can try?

Hmm,

I wonder, is this a bug in the BIOS or might there be something else that prevents it from assigning in later versions?

Might it be that support for the 8k7a+ has stopped since there are no BIOS updates anymore ?
