Problems with 8rda+ HELP please...

Heh title explains all! I am having troubles with this motherboard, while it is trivial it is annoying. When i press the reset button the computer just powers down after a few seconds and wont turn back on right away when i try. Usually takes 10-40 secs for it to turn back on again with me using the power button. Using the save settings button in the bios achieves the same thing...

Please someone tell me what might be the problem or if you have this board and found the fix for it, be it bios option somewhere or otherwise.

First time on the forums, hi everyone!

could be your power supply, or a fault connector to the motherboard...

I have no idea how the board works because it has JUST become available in the past 3 days...

Hate to change the subject... but do you like the motherboard? What was the packaging/contents like?

Are you absolutely sure you have the wires connected correctly for the reset, power connectors on the mobo?

Power supply is fine, everything is fine. I have built many many computers. It is the motherboard. I have a theory as to what is wrong with it just turning off. I also noticed when it does turn off the pc speaker makes a noise constantly. I looked in the manual.... here an excerpt from it.

3-6 cpu overheating protection
this board has cpu overheating protection when the temperature of the cpu is overheating. this board supports automatically shutdown(to remove power) circuit when the cpu has reached the temperature of approximately 110C. meanwhile the speaker will sustained beep and the system will not be to power on. this protection is designed by hardware you dont need tod o the bois setup.

I didn't cap or punctuate it much so it looks blah, but i am thinking the 110C it is supposed to read is actually being read when its 110F, big difference and very annoying.

Another thing my 2100+ is viewed only as a 1500+ also annoying.

Some things to put to rest, max fsb in bios at this time is 200 FSB The overclocking features of this board are impressive the bugs are annoying though(as stated above). I just want a working computer again at this point, so far big dissapointment.

The default for that jumper is that setting and it is that setting currently. In the bios i have tried everything from 133 FSB and 13 multiplier to 133 and default and a few others. Nothing works it has always been viewed as a 1500+ sinced i first got it up and running. I hope epox tech can help, i sent an email to epox. I will probably end up returning this board, this is rediculous.

Your right bro, that is DAMN ridiculous.

Yes, I too see records being set with a board maxing at 200FSB... that won't post.

I hope a BIOS cures this pal. Tough luck huh?

Maybe ET will have useful advice for you. Just dont say "PCI divider."

No i am not, i use the motherboard post screen. The wrong post speed of the cpu isnt really bothering me. IT turning off when rebooting is pissing me off.

Sounds like it's not working right to me.
Since I don't have that board I can't tell you if it's a problem with all of them or just yours.
Looking at Holst's post sayin he is at 200fsb I suspect it is probably just yours.
Hopefully someone will come along who can answer that soon or you can call-email epox support and see what they say if you don't want to wait.
Goodluck.

When are you pressing reset ?

The only times i have is after overclocking crash/no post.

Ive not had my board turn off yet, if allways reboots like any other.

Ive not pressed reset whyle running in windows, I would try on ET's 8RDA+ box but hes using it :P

Your 2100 is listed as 1500 as your at 100fsb. increase the FSB to 133 and it will get you upto speed.
Did you try to unlock your CPU at all, those 2100 can be a bugger.

Also can you tell us what bios your using.
There is an 8RDA+ bios on epox.org, if thats newer than what you have try it.

The FSB jumper on the board should be in the closed position.

Disciplinary action if you even enter the BIOS.
