Removing the backplate from your case??

Hi all,
I have a Enermax 710B case... You don't really need to know much about that... But what I really wanna know, is how do I get the backplate off?

I am getting an 8RDA+, and it doesn't match the one supplied (I am getting one with the 8RDA+)

The little bugger has little metal ends that keep it from going out...

I've tried pushing hard with my palm and everything, I don't wanna bend it, just get it out safely...

If I understand you correctly, you don't need to Israfel, your new motherboard will come with an adapting plate, one that NEEDS the plate your trying to remove in order to fit..

hmm... but the layout is so different... the LAN is on the opposite side of the dual monitor ports... and the 6 channel audio is laying on the board, not stacking up in 3...

Here is a quick diagram... i've looked closely, and it's very different to the Epox 8RDA+... I don't see how you could change it for the Epox 8RDA+ Unless you hacked it with a sharp object...

OK, that will have to be removed, but don't use force! Go to their site and see if you can find some Docs on this, your Box may or may not have come with some explanation? Or wait for someone who has this box. Good Luck!

What I do is use the butt of a screwdriver and push from outside the case each corner until it pops into the case...

Sometimes they can be very tough, but this should work...

Good Luck

OUCH...

I got it out, by putting the screwdriver bud in a corner and pushing really hard... It took quite alot of strength... but it came out...

Keep in mind this case is thick steel...

And when I pushed it out I nearly took a huge chunk out of the right side of my hand... Barely missing the naked edge of steel by centimetres...

thanks for all the feedback, it's been useful!

You get a new backplane with your new motherboard.

Normally the backplane will be easy to remove from a case, just take the board out then push the backplane gently into the case.

I have had some real buggahs to remove from time to time...

They can be real hard, dunno how they get them in tbh...

Nearly lost a finger once... now I keep me hands clear of back of it...

The motherboard is getting here tomorrow...

yeah, I guess I better ring him...

I got some parts of my new system today...

Lite-on 48x12x48 Burner
Lite-on 16x DVD-rom

Hey, this sounds strange... but when I pick up the DVD rom and sort of move it sideways slowly or in any direction... I can hear something moving inside... Just something small... I don't have a system to test it in yet... so should I be concerned?
