New 8DRA+ arrived today. With some very careful measuring I can honestly say that this board will be a keeper. My D-Tek TC-4 block will center over the DIE. I really can’t understand how the four holes on my first mobo can be any different over any other 8DRA+, but they were.

I have been setback in getting my system up and running dew to the three-barb top arriving and not fitting the base. Maybe a week or two and I will have it running. By then I will be light years behind everyone in testing so bare with me if I have some questions.

Are you 100% sure they were different, if those holes are even 1mm out of place then it will kill the board by breaking tracks, such a board would never be sold as it wouldnt pass QC.

I dont suppose you have the original to compare the two ?

Oh well, as long as your running ok now.

i don't get it either - the boards are etched from template, the components mounted by robots and if the socket's in the wrong place the board wouldn't work, or if a hole's in the wrong place it's cutting tracks

i'm sure CooledByWater knows his business enough not to be mistaken though, and the pic in his first post did show the holes not lining up with the socket. the holes can't be in the wrong place - that only leaves the socket. bizarre mystery.

would have been interesting to see the 2 boards side by side. CooledByWater could you take another close-up pic of the new board for a comparison? i guess it's set up now though...

After a host of test a STROKE or HEART ATTACK was ruled out. Seems I have a pinched nerve in my upper back. So maybe GOD loves me!!!!

Dude, I hope you feel better. I had the same thing in my lower back a few years back and I can sympathize. Anyway, I hope you feel better.

Glad its not any of those! I bet it's sciatica, I had it and it SUCKS! Pain and numbness down the left side and leg. Does it hurt when you bend your head all the way forward? "The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body formed from spinal cord segments L4 to S3" Hope you feel better!

A few years ago I ruptured two disks in my lower back. Believe me I know all about sciatic nerve. The doc's tried all types of drugs on me back then and they never helped. I had to have back surgery. I am a walking case of pain. I have had 7 knee surgeries due to playing football, a ruptured appendix that nearly killed me, a water skiing accident that nearly tore my right leg off trying to set a world record at over 140 MPH in the quarter mile, and many other bumps and bruises from Off Road Racing. So GOD has been very good to me.

actually mate, i spent the day in hospital too, having casts removed from both legs. oh, did i have a good scratching session when they came off

been in a wheelchair for over 2 months after shattering both my heel bones jumping out of a 15ft window onto pavement, *ahem* for a £100 bet. put me in hospital for a week, doh!!

anyway, i can walk again!!! w00t. though not very far before they start to hurt like hell. been on large doses of codeine since it happened, gets me spaced but isn't doing too much for my feet now...

anyway, hope your back clears up mate

This gets me, I am not a extreme sport type of person but I do love to play (American)football/basket ball, I enjoy the competition. My hormones never drive me do anything crazy than bongi jumps and roller coaster rides. Although now I am very tempting to try ski diving. Is this kind of testing yourself to the edge addictive and so the next time you will try to push your body and soul to the edge again and again? If it is, I'm better stop the thoughts about ski diving. Maybe fishing on the lake and drink beer is a good idea for recreations.

i used to skateboard a lot, so i've had a few crunched ankles and popped knees etc, but never been crippled this badly

i'm getting on a bit now (relatively that is, i'm 30) so i can't take the knocks like i used to. fink i've learned me lesson there

I am 25 only and I felt I am getting old.

I like drink hot water/tea than drink coke or other soft drinks.
I like my food warm and I prefer filet mignon than steak.
I can't listen to heavy music anymore and I found my 18 yr old brother loud.
I stop speeding and only drive 5mph over the speed limit (I used to go over the speed limit more that 30miles)

Am I getting too old for my age? :nervous:

I can't do the sports that I use to do. The water skiing accident put me in my place. I crashed 200 feet from the timing lights and bounced along the water another couple hundred feet before coming to a stop. Let me tell you, at that speed water is like concrete. I had been racing from the time I was 6-years-old and never had a serious accident on water until that dreadful day and I have never been on a ski again whether for fun or racing.

kowalski, hope you start to fill better as well...
