Really Daniel? I mean I didn't see that, although I haven't checked the house of help since early this after.. I did hear something about new modules for NF......... wonder if anything different besides going against the Jedec standard ( spd values ), cuz if it's just spd values, that wont do any good, as I set it myself anyway.

OK!!!

Here's what I did and what happened.

First, I went into the BIOS and set the FSB to 133 to get it ready to swap the memory. Original timings were 2.0-2-2-6 Then I turned the computer off.

Then I took the old 256MB XMS3000CAS2 out and replaced it with the new 512MB XMS3500CAS2.

At the same time, I also swapped video cards. Took out a GF4200 and replaced it with a ATI8500.

I turned the computer back on and waited til it booted back up.

I rebooted and went into the BIOS and changed the FSB back to 200 and set timings to 2.0-2-2-4

Saved to CMOS and rebooted.

Then I opened a browser. Went to www.aoaforums.com. Looked up this thread and started typing.

Like I said, I tend to get lucky with this kind of thing. Anyway, I have to eat dinner now so I'll start raising FSB again a little later after I eat.

Basically, NO ISSUES WHAT SO EVER!!!!!

We have a post somewhere...about 4 or 5 days back...with a link to the corsair forums in which "The Ram Guy" says that's what they are doing.

I'm pretty sure I'm having power issues now. My 5V line is dropping to the 4.8 range. I guess the tighter timings and the additional RAM is having an effect. I can get up to 210 if I drop timings down to 2.0-3-3-7. I'd rather run 2.0-2-2-4.

EDIT: Does anyone know whether a Radeon 8500 uses more power than a GF4200?

Not more??
Corsair XMS are rated at 217 2.0-3-3-7.
My stick behaves the same way, strange.
With latest Bios I am able to run 210/2.0-3-3-7 no more.
With previous Bios release I was able to run 211/2.0-2-2-4.
I am on my way to RMA my stick since it doesn´t run rated speed but it migh not be the RAM??

The strange thing is I am able to run the board 238 fsb if I run mem async and also with previous release I had the mem async at almost 230 2.0-3-3-7.
I must try if this is the case with the Bios I now have.

Pretty strange if running async(+/-) would prove the mem to be stable ~230 and motherboard even more.
When running sync only 210.

I will try to max out the mem again by async.
Tomorrow go over to a friend and try his stick here.

Muzz on the other hand has no problem running 230+ fsb synced with his XMS3500C2.

Found the problem
I am now able to run high fsb synced.
Because I want all to notice this I start a new thread about it.

so, correct me if I'm wrong -- but most problems seem to be solved by configuring the RAM manually in the bios?

8RDA+ has so many options in Bios, It takes a while to learn all the settings.

I built an entirely new system using the 8RDA+ and a single stick of 512 mb, Geil PC 3500 Ultra Platinum series. After having nothing but problems for the last 3 days, I finally test the DDR using Memtest-86 V3.0, and it had more than 20,000 errors as opposed to 0 errors with my Crucial PC 2100 memory from my prior computer. I will be RMA the Geil stick. If this is any indication of the Geil quality, I will not buy more of it. We'll see how they deal with this return under warranty at OCsystem.com

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mark.fa...k%202.6ghz.jpg

13x199 with 2 sticks of Corsair 3500xms manually configured to 5-2-2-2 at 2.5v....

Cant argue with that....

Anything over 199 and 3dmark bugs out says I havent completed enough tests.... weird...

Should come out at more than 16k
