XP1900+ Overclocking results!!!

Hi guys,

Here's some XP1900+ overclocking results. This processor at default speed runs at 1.6Ghz. Now my aim was to reach 1.8Ghz and this was successfully achieved with my XP 1900+.

Stepping on my XP1900+:

AX1900DMT3C
AGNGA0143TPCW
Y7103.....

Here's a WCPUID shot:

Was 1800 the highest it was perfectly stable? And are you using high-end air or water or water and peltier? Just figured I'd ask.

No 1800MHz was the first I've tried and yes its high end air cooling....

Will play around with it soon!!!

Cool! Keep us informed. Now let's see, I'd say if you could get that baby up to 1900 you'd have a 300Mhz overclock, not bad

I hear the AGNGA uses some dot 13 parts! the AGKGA is purely dot 18 i think, hence AGNGA overclocking better! its the same with the Tbirds, the later steppings used some of palomino's features, and hence overclocked a bit higher or so im told!

Every model 7 type processor uses "small" hybrid composition manufacture - not just certain steppings.

It is this hybrid configuration that leads to the difficulties with trying to use overvolt techniques to get outstanding overclocks.

u gotta remember who he is KAIN.... he can get info like that as he works for EPoX and comes here to help us out in his spare time! he a BIG help! as such he gets info like what goes into the chips! dont ask him about it too much as he cant give away trade secrets.

a lot of info can be found around the net...... although not all of it is correct (example being me saying the new Palomino steppings use dot 13 for some parts, when in fact all use it)

Didn't mean to offend EPoX tech by that comment... I've read a lot of the forum and seen his useful help. It's great that he is willing to offer it.

I was only joking, I understand that he would know a lot about processors in his job.

No problem KAIN - I think R.Nonsense was being a little over protective of me after reading my response to some of those who've been a little inconsiderate of late !!

How's life across in Wales ?

Well I suppose MK has to have something going for it. Nah JKing I love the place compared to many major cities. But after living in Aberystwyth not many places compete, I'm sure here must have quite a scoop on Overclockers:Population. I know of at least 3 people who regularlly post on ocuk forums etc. Out of 20k people thats not bad 8-)
