All,

Left channel on above mobo is not working, just crackling. Anyone got any ideas? Am on latest bios / xp sp1.

Thanks,
Chopper

dont enable dolby encoding unless you have the correct speakers connected...

Got the same problem as you chopper. Haven't found a solution yet. Dolby encoding is off as are all the funky options. Tried with 2.1 speakers and headphones. Managed to get all channels out of my right speaker but nothing out of the left ever.

Hmmmm. Well at least I'm not on my own! Funny, but I'm sure I read another post on one of the OC forums but I can't find it now. I have emailed Epox technical support (UK) but as yet haven't received anything. I was thinking about messing around with the jumpers - have you tried that yet?
Thanks,
C

I've got to disagree....  I have DD 5.1 encoding on and have two sets of Promedia 4.1's connected as a 8.2 setup (4.1 x 2), and with all the options enabled 4.1 channel works fine...including the left channel...

Did you run the speaker setup wizard?

no I run a dd5.1 setup with spdif out card and a decent yamaha home cinema amp...

There is no such thing as 8.2, what you have is a 4.1 setup with double the speakers and the 2 dont compare...

What you are getting with your setup is a dd5.1 encode spread over 4 speakers + sub, and your sound will be inaccurate due to the missing centre channel which is being coded but ultimately missing...
