8kha/+ any good or what ??

ive just got a 8kha/+ board from e-bay(£10.00 not bad).

for some reason the ps2 ports dont work at all but everything else if fine .it sometimes halts on boot up but if i press reset a couple of times it boots ok.

amyone got any tweaks-updates -stories on this board i would be graitfull

Its running a 2000xp watercooled and not missed a beat in 2.5 days.Best tenner ive ever spent (untill the next one anyway):-D

I love mine. It's a bit dated, but still a good overclocking mobo by today's standard, with good memory performance .

BTW, great deal you got... My current mobo is an AT7, so I have no PS2 ports at all.... when I got this mobo, there was a price premium for it, go figure.

its a great mb. i JUST upgraded from an 8kha+ to the 8rda+. i had that mb for almost a year which is evidence in and of itself as to how good the board is because im an upgrading fool. =)
it 152 fsb is the max you can run because it doesnt have a 1/5 divider. it has a 75% divider at fsb over 160 with spd selected. mushkin rules did an outstanding thread on the 8kha+ over at amdmb.com in the epox motherboard area. i would suggest setting aside a few hours and going over there and reading it. i think theres over 600 posts on that one thread so its a lot of reading but it mostly good stuff.

ALL retail 8KHA+ are Rev. 2.0.

UH....I think the first shipping board was ver. 1.3 or something... And if someone is e-baying then it may be the older board.

ye its a rev 2.0 board came with all Bits as well its still runing so i think ill start tweaking & playing about with it .

Its a good board for my new project SUPERCOOL ive got 3 80watt tec's and 1 220 watt tec ive a guy makeing some waterblocks for me and the liquid is going to get pre cooled
via a bung in a fridge.

STiLL running 170 fsb on it for 1 year now. I am running a 1800+ tbred @ 2.0 gig. The north bridge fan gave up on the 8 month but besides that no complaints...

There are LOADS of bios both beta and official.

Id probably start out with beta 8khal00.bin and then try some newer official ones.

Take a look at www.aoafiles.com for bios.

Kick ass board, with some good memory you can run high FSB and get great benches.

8KHA+ Rev 2 is the best KT266A board to come

down the pike. Tbred compatable.

Someone has evidently been unplugging/plugging PS/2

devices while the power was on and killed the PS/2 port.

Hotswapping USB devices... no problem.
