Exclamation Epox Monitor -5V Alarm

I was enjoying a bit a battlefield to celebrate getting my comp rock steady and the epox hardware monitor alarm went off.:nervous: The load wail of sirens persuaded my to check the log to see what was going wrong. The negative 5v limit was being exceeded. It was going over -5.3, is this bad or can I just make it less sensitive. I presume that this is related to the normal 5v rail we hear so much about. I have a good quality PSU is it possible I'm overloading it?

Thanks for any suggestions

The -5V line is not related to the 5V line. It's completely seperate. I'm not entirely sure what uses it any longer!

If you have access to a multimeter, then use that to verify that the line is out of spec (on the ATX connector). If it is out of spec, you may want to look at returning the PSU, as it may be developing a fault.

thats not far enough out to cause any problems, so just turn the alarm off....

My minus voltages on my P4 board were so far out it wasnt real....

I have a screenie somewhere, -5v was at 0v and -12v was at -6v

I didnt worry and it never caused any problems...

Thanks guys, you've made me feel better. I just bought this 70 quid PSU & didn't feel like losing for a few days while it was swapped out.
