Dual DDR not working

Hi ET, Holst and all,

I´ve put a new system together based on the 8RDA+, an Athlon XP 2200+ and 2 sticks of 256MB Apacer Nanya DDR266 CL2.0 memory. Everything is running in sync 133MHz FSB and Memory. BIOS is version c10.

I can put the memory sticks in any slot in any combination, doesn´t matter, the memory bandwith reported by Sandra is always around 1250MB/s. Also if I use just one stick, it's the same bandwith.

The dual ddr interface was the reason to by this board. Any clue what's going on before I have ot RMA it?

Thanks, Tom64

Instead of Sandra, try 3DMark. Sandra is terrible for memory benchmarks.

Another point. Dual DDR only offers something like 3-5% performance gains. Theoretically, the dual DDR can pump 6.1GB of data per second through the SPP, but the SPP to CPU interface becomes a bottleneck. There is no way around the fact that the CPU interface only runs at 266FSB (at least for you).
