FSB 210Mhz= unstable ...

Hi!

Got my new Corsair PC2700 yesterday, tested and working!
It was time for my first overclock…:nervous: … :nervous: So where would I go for advice but here!!!

Unlock the Duron 1.1 and eventually got it to boot @ 1365MHz, 210MHz x 6.5 but the memory wasn’t stable so dropped FSB to 202Mhz!
The DRAM seems to c**p out at 180MHz FSB with “Turbo” settings, but can push it to 210Mhz on “normal” vdimm=2.74v, although it won’t run 3dMark for more than 20 secs!
At 202MHz it run 1 cycle of 3Dmark without crashing. Further testing needed…
I’ll try upping the VDIMM and Vcore a bit more, and that’s the reason for this Post.
Duron default V=1.76v, how high can it go without damaging it? Want to go past the 1400MHz, stable.
Corsair PC2700 default=2.5v, how high can it go without damaging it? Do I need to get some kind of heatsink first?
Will I be better of running it @ 175Mhz ”Turbo” or 202MHz “Normal”?

btw how do I post a CPUID pic here?

Thanks in advance,

Teo1

Nice OC

It might be that your duron is limitiong your FSB.

When i was running 100fsb duron it wouldt go above 180 even with hardware that would run over 200.

200 is a 100% overclock on the FSB

Thanks Holst!

I'll try to get it as stable as possible @ 200MHz! I'll try 1.875 Vcore and 2.8 VDIMM :nervous: :nervous:
At the moment it doesnt seem to make a difference which memory setings or FSB I use, 3DMark always seems to give me the same score! I guess I can only push a Geforce2 so far!
But I haven't tried any vid card overclock!
Anyway my Sapphire 8500LE (275/275) should be here anytime soon. Looking @ the voltage mod for this card, I might be able to get it past 300/300

Thanks again!

Nice one!

Hey Holst, dont you get tired of beeing wright...
kept FSB 202MHz, Vcore=1.85v, Vdimm+2.7 and lowered 0.5 on the multiplier...Have been playing BF1942 for 1 hour not 1 crash!!
Ok CPU is only @1206MHz but at leas its stable!

I knew there was a reason why i keep coming here!!!
