NB Cooling 8RDA+

Lo,

I have a silver orb on the NB although it doesn't fit properly, i think this is what is causing my comp to switch off and the alarm to sound, on anything above 190 FSB I have ordered a 40mm fan now for the Nb YS-TECH one, and Need to know Shall I use the AS3on the NB and put the Fan on top of that? or Revert Back to the Passive Heatsink and mod the 40mm on to that?

Your thoughts please?

A 50mm FAN will fit perfectly with the existing heatsink.
Also lap an existing heatsink.
YOu will be surprised (use a permanent marker pen to mark the base of the heatsink before lapping to see how flat is the base while you are lapping)

when you lap the NB, do you sand the black outer edge in order to make the silver inner circle the same level as the outer edge?
maybe its just my NB, but the inner silver circle is a bit recessed compared to the black outer edge.
