It freezes at 200fsb

hallo..

Why does my system freeze at 200fsb or more when playing halflife or maffia.. But don't at 196 fsb.
Another strange thing.. quake 3 and 3dmark works with 200fsb!??!
Can it be the northbridge or southbridge that bad cooled or are hafllife and maffia bad games that not support 200 fsb!

hmm it doesen`t matter if I have otimal or turbo settings at the twinmos module. I have the agp frequensy at "auto" (66mhz)
I have tried the most settings !!!

I think you have to do the Vdd Mod, too...

I have tried 10*200=2000mhz=orginal with orginal voltage

The only thing that happens are that Halflife and maffia freeses after 5 min playing or less,, and q3 and 3dmark works.. have played q3 for 45 min .. The computer is stable in windows,,,

What do you meen with screen flickers? Not so god at english

I think you definately in need of a VDD mod.

Have you tried raising your voltage to cpu just a little. Ussually when I have one that freezes in gaming raising cpu voltage ussually helps it unless the cpu is maxed out.

I observed a phenomenum during my journey to 200FSB. Under Prime95 stress if my system *REBOOT* then it is either the CPU or the memory went bad. If it *FREEZE* then it is the NB.

Add a fan to NB and see.

I think a hard freeze is either you need some kind of active northbridge cooling or the NB isnt getting enough juice...VDD mod will fix that up.

People ARE getting 200+ without the mod. To void your warranty without at lest trying the new BIOS just does't make sense.

Well ya, I would definately try the new bios first before anything. The VDD mod should be a last resort only for people who are determined to get a high fsb that cant any other way. Most people who had the same problem as you fixed it doing the VDD mod. As daniel said though, give the bios a shot. Use the VDD mod only as a last resort.

hmm... So U think its the bios? I have already upgrade to 8RDA2C10.BIN bios.. And why should my nb be to bad cooled when other guys get over 200 fsb with´original cooling!!?

Personally I think its the VDD but like I said...rule everything else out first. I'm using the latest bios and it didnt let me push mine any farther. I get screen flashes aronud 194fsb. My new clips will be coming in soon so Ill be doing the vdd mod.

Okej .. tried with higher cpu voltage with no effect.. the screen can be black sometimes too..

And what exaktly are VDD mod?

Does the screen go black for like a second or two then come right back randomly? If it does....the VDD will fix this no doubt. The VDD is the voltage that goes through the chipset. Just like vdimm is for ram, vcore is for cpu....the VDD is for the northbridge.

Noo It freezes almost everytime ... it don´t be black when I have 200*10

I had the same problem :// but now its fixed. I change from my Chieftech 340W to my old one Aopen 300W and now its just fine.
I have made the Vdd mode aswell and im up at 210fsb with 1.85.

OT: nytt nätagg som sagt, finns vridpott som man kan ändra på i nätagget men om du inte vet så gör inte det. Beror mest på din 3.3+ att datorn inte hänger med. Vad ligger den på, min ligger runt 2,9 som är ganska lågt ://. Iaf jag fixade det nu så ..

Hmm I have enermax 350watt..
So you have to do vdd mod? aja how do I do that .. but i don´t mthink I would do that anyway..!!`??
