Which 4-in-1 drivers to use? I installed the 4-in-1drivers that came with the EPoX board. I guess it's version 4.33 I read somewhere that some people have performance loss with the 4.35 drivers. Is 4.34 the version I should use? I run Windows ME.

I play UT in XP; the only issue I have is that it has a hard time to find servers; it always find lots of servers for one of the games, but nearly nothing for the rest. Is it common with other OSes ? (I just started to play it ![]()

tom, What soundcard do you have? I have a SB Live value and all voices and soundeffects have bad distorsions. Even with the new drivers for XP. Also, when I have UT running, I got mouse and keyboard delay. Both in UT and other programs. If I minimize UT and type somthing in notepad, it takes about ½-1 second before the letters shows up. I run UT in D3D and have the 4.36 patch.

I've the same config. I've the value edition of the sb live, but no sound / slowdow problems at all did you try to disable the sound to see if the keyboard/mouse delay comes from there ? check my thread '8kha+ 1 problem solved'; I got major problems with the via drivers

4.34's are my driver set of choice at present with the 4.35's only offering any use to Windows XP followers (not me BTW)

i also have a live!, and when i first ran ut in winxp, it was fine. i exited, and when i went back in, the sound was all screwed. after A LOT of playing around, i've found that i have to play something, any sound, before loading ut, and then the sound in ut is fine. so now i just quicly open media player, play 2 or 3 seconds of an mp3, and then load ut. sorts the sound out. if i don't do that between ut loads, the sound goes wierd. don't ask me why, but this method works for me. try it! as for the delays.. ut uses a *****load of cpu time, so it's not that wierd that other processes get really slowed up, depending on the speed of your cpu. hope this helps ya!!

Can anyone identify the creative chips that their Live cards are based upon. This seems to be apparent with some CT483x cards, however not all. Are the 479x cards affected ?

![]() Thanks for your reply. About the Creative chips, mine is 4830 too. Quote:
You can see my spec's in my sig. Before I got this mobo and cpu and had an ASUS CUSL2 and a PIII 700 running at 875 MHz. I did not have any delay with that system so it seems to be something with my hardware and the VIA-chipset. I should try that tip about the sound when I install XP next time. I'm waiting for a new harddrive so I gonna have one drive with ME and one with XP.
