corrupt taskbar (8RDA+)

whenever i hold my mouse over something like a button or a file, whether its the taskbar or while browsing local files, the tool tip text or whatever seems to be corrupt.
any ideas on this? ive gone back to stock everything. i did flash a new bios on my 9500 Pro in order to enable overclocking, but i now have the original bios back on it and stock settings.

edit: the top image, the mouse is not over the volume control, its over the zone alarm icon, and in the bottom image, the mouse is not over photoshop, its over the AIM button

Font corruption is usually memory related...or so they tell me. But this seems more likely OS problem, have you tryed a "System Restore"?

System restore sounds like a good plan.

ok well i was playing with the hardware acceleration stuff in the advanced display properties > troubleshoot menu and i moved it down to 3 ticks from the left. now everything works fine. it says that by moving it to where i did that it disables all directDraw and DirectX accelartions. maybe try to reinstall dx9? im currently in the process of upgrading my grafx drivers to the new WHQL approved cats.

It might be that you need a new driver install after flashing the graphics bios

hmm, one more thing i noticed. i changed to the newest 3.0 catalyst drivers and it seems that now with hardware acceleration back to full, i only get the corruption when folding@home is running. very strange. maybe its time to go to the console version only.

hmm, interesting, anyone else? upon further investigation, it seems that if i shut down f@h and then start it up again, the tooltips are fine, but as soon as i click on the tray icon to see the graphical window, thats when they get corrupt, even if you re-minimize it. you must close f@h down and restart it to get back to normal.
