Question WinXP says my HD is SCSI

Since I installed my 8RDA+ windows reports my maxtor 40GB ATA133 HD as a scsi drive. I can still access the drive with no trouble, but I'm just curious if anyone knows how I can make it recognise that it's a IDE drive? The bios reports it accurately as an IDE drive.

I'm using the c3117 bios and have tried it with both the default nforce drivers and the 2.0 drives. I have reset the bios to defaults. I have also reinstalled windows. Any ideas?

Send a message via ICQ to OverDose Send a message via AIM to OverDose Send a message via Yahoo to OverDose

it's supposed to do that, that's how the non-whql SW-IDE driver works, like how an ATA-RAID controller will show your drives as SCSI too

Update the nvidia ide driver in the device properties and point it to the driver cd. You'll get the older Msoft approved drivers and normal characteristics in the hardware manager. Not to mention getting dma and burning enabled on my master/slave cdrw/dvd arrangement.
