8KHA+ New Bios. Do I need to upgrade?

I am running a Bios dated 8 jan 2002 with no apparent problems.
I am "not overclocking" yet, but I am planning to do a small overclock just to see what this aging board is capable of.
Since my Palomino 1600 is also "a little long in the tooth" i might be upgrding to a 2400 processor soon.

1. Will my present system benefit from flashing with the new 8khi3127 bios
2. Will a 2400 processor need it ?
3. Any hints to a complete Newbie on where to start overclocking?

Too many- questions i know, but bear with me , ok ?

My recommendation on starting to overclock is not to start overclocked. Start your rig with everything at default, and run it that way for a while, so you know that everything is stable. This is the time to fix any problems that may occur, so that you're not bashing your head against the problem later on.

That way, you know that any new problems that come along are probably related to your overclocking attempt, rather than something that was hanging around before.
