high o/c, what cpu interface?

I was just wondering whether you run optimal or aggressive for you cpu? Seems as my CPU won't make it over 1.9 GHz on aggressive, would I be able to squeeze some more out of it on optimal?

Optimal might give you a little more speed since it runs the cpu/fsb at less aggressive timings...

So basically I'd be better of with aggressive timings but a bit less clockspeed?

Well... What I've learned at least in my system is that the difference between Optimal and Aggressive is hardly noticeable...

I always run Aggressive and have never had a problem... In my system Optimal doesn't make my system any more stable over Aggressive or doesn't get me any more speed out of my CPU...

It varies from system to system... Some systems won't run with Aggressive and need Optimal...

Only way to know for sure is to test it out for yourself on your system...

good luck..

Edit: Oh I just noticed that you didn't say which motherboard you have... It varies also depending on your motherboard...

It also varies with my 8RDA+, I'm running aggressive@1950Mhz with my 1600+ palomino, but when I switch to optimal I can go up to 1,97Ghz with the same Vcore...
Strange...

I have the 8rda+..

Think I'll get rid of this CPU asap.. or I might hold on to it until the Barton hits the shelves.. but I'm really tempted to get one of those 2100+ Tbred B's right now.. well.. Barton should be around in just a week and then prices will probably drop on the 2100+ so I might get one then.. and I'll keep the one I have for a future server or something..

Or I'll dump it off and get some cash for it.. anyways..

I'd also need some new memory.. realized that I was not that smart when I got my parts.. because at that point I didn't realize what FSBs you could run these babies at so I only have 2700, i.e. DDR333.. it does o/c to DDR400+ but I might as well pick up some 3500 for some serious o/cing.. seems as my board will do fine at over 200 MHz FSB so it'd be really interesting to push it to the limit.. *drool*
