4PEA and audio problems

I cannot get captured a/v to playback audio using either WMP or Winamp. All other audio files do play fine as does audio from ROM drives. Captured video plays fine just no sound no matter what program I use. Am I missing a setting?

2 x 60 GB HDD RAID 1 (data) on one controller
60 GB HDD dedicated for video
Onboard AC97 sound
Creative 5.1 suround sound system
Matrox G450 DH
Pioneer AO5 DVD burner
Running Windows 2000 w/sp3
WMP and Winamp
Capture using Adobe Premiere 6.5, iuVCR, Power VCR, and Virtual Dub.
Audio config works great except for captured files either in AVI or MPEG format
If all else fails I can install my Soundblaster 5.1 card to see if it's the AC97 but SB is such a pig I hate having those files loaded in a clean sys.
