8RDA+ problems

Just got my new 8RDA+ and i keep getting FF on my diagnostic LED. I tried CMOS jumper clearing, changing the battery. the only way now seems if i RMA my board. Is there any other way to fix the problem?

FF = boot attemp - according to the manual, meaning that the board has booted fine. Mine always reads it when the comp is running so i assume thats it anyway

FF has two meanings, depending when it happens!

If the board shows FF without having cycled through other numbers when it's booting, it means that something is stopping the CPU from running anything. You'd probably know this, as you'd not see anything on the screen, there's be no beeps, and nothing would happen at all!

If the board shows FF after the POST, it means the BIOS has handed control across to the operating system and the operating system is now in control.

So, if your board boots up fine, and shows FF, it means the BIOS got the board up and running, and then started booting the OS. The OS, being the meany it is, won't touch the display, and leaves it at FF.

Try running the board out of the case. Set it on the antistatic bag it came in and hookup just the basics, mouse keyboard, vidcard, memory, and cpu and heatsink. Sometimes if the board is grounding out against something in the case it will go straight to FF.

Many others with this problem can run fine outside of the case, still don't know why though.

Yeah several..
One is epox itself .. where you can order a new bios chip. see http://www.epox.nl/english/support/bios.htm

Second is www.badflash.com

p.s i have same probs.. only my system went down today. Same ****.. alot of people have this problem.. Some of them already RMA'd the board and heard that there chip (bios) was burned .. they all don't know how.. I think its a combination of overclocking and Bios 3117.

what bios where u running
