Good looking inexpensive NB heatsink for 8RDA

Check it:

http://www.directron.com/zmnb32j.html

It has variable length holes for the pushpins, so it should fit without a problem. No fan, but that's easily remidied. AND it comes from a place where their motto is "Deep discounts direct". That sounds kinda porno.

Nice find! I wonder how it would compare with some active Vantec Iceberg Copper?

I heard Zalman's passive HS are good ones...

I have been using one of the zalman coolers on my 8K3A+ for about 2 mths, bought 2 when I bought them. They are a great cooler for passive cooling or even with a fan. The adjustable mounting was easy so they will fit about anywhere. They have a good price on them here.

Yes, I read a guy put 1 on the NB and another one on the SB - the pins are adjustable so you can even use the holes around the SB or Thermal Adhesive...I bought 2 (those are cheap)...

Now I'd like to know if it really performs better than the stock HS on the NB? Is that stock HS really crap or is it fairly decent (doing the job up to 180fsb?)

Feedback appreciated....

cool.. thanks .. I wanted one of these since I don't want to epoxy anything if not absolutely neccesary..

Think I'll pick one up and put it on the SB then.. and then another active cooled on the NB.. hopefully that'll do the job..

well i dont have any performance comparisons but my buddy pulled his off to lap and you wouldn't of believed how concave the bottom was.it took him alot of time to get flat but the end result was him getting to that 200 mark.

My 8RDA+ runs 200 stable, 210 stable enough to run 3dm and can load windows at 215. This seems to be an exception though.

NB heatsink totally stock no mods at all. just call me lucky

my board boots up and runs at 210 mhz fsb at least..

could just boot it up though because of my pc2700 memory.. can't really take speeds over 200 Mhz fsb..

I had to set it to slowest timings just to try and see what speeds it would boot at.. I tried up to 210 and then I didn't bother going any further.. think I'll pick up some pc3500 memory and check what this baby can do..

Stilo - how did you get the fan attached to the Zalman? Did you manage to get screws big enough to lodge between the fins, or what? Just ordered a Zalman for my NB, but would put a fan on it too if it's an easy task.

@ fibonaccov:
-Type: Papst 412/2
-Size: 40 x 40 x 20 mm.
-RPM: 6000 RPM.
-Air displacement: 10 m³/h
-Noise: 18 dba
-Volt: 12 V
-Connection: 3-pin
-Bearing: Ball Bearing

This fan is thermally controlled by my PSU so it's really noiseless now. And it cools really great the HS bearly gets warm.

Bought it at www.freezinghardware.nl, it's a Dutch online shop, but i don't think that's very usefull to you since u live in CA (California??) and i'm guessing u don't speak or read Dutch .

@ JEB
Indeed.. i got big screws and i bend the fins towards eachother to make it fit. It's not that solid attached... but it will hold.

@ k1114
It's a GlobalWin TAK 58

Many thanks Stilo - I guess this one will do - I got some antec 430w true power psu which can also control fans - i might do that then - I could also use some Sunon fan.

It´s crap quality. I got two and one got some bad pins that made the pins get loose as well as the zalman of course. Had to install a crystal orb instead which was intended for my video card.
