Anyone running that Crucial PC3200 in their 8RDA?

Never owned Crucial memory but they are usually among the best at what they do. They always follow the JEDEC standard so them making pc3200 now is proof that pc3200 has become a new standard.

Explains why 2700 is so cheap now.
I noticed that the 3200 is cas3... not sure if I want to try. None of my mobos support cas3 DDR.

Ykalon is right about Crucial always following the JEDEC standard. That happens to be the reason why it's CAS3. JEDEC in all their wisdom decided that was best for PC3200....

Being Crucial I wouldn't be surprised to see it run cas 2.5 or 2... but that's what I want to find out

I wonder what chips are on there modules.

Some crucial 2700 was using samsung 2700 chips.

hopefully crucial 3200 isnt the pretty rubbish samsung 3200 cas-3 chips.

Micron chips generaly OC loads from stock, micron 3200 chips might be great overclockers.

Does anybody want to take the risk and buy a stick?

That's what I'm running on mine. 2 x 512 cas 2.0 XMS. Never took covers off to look at chips. Currently at 4-2-2-2.0 at 210 FSB 24 x 7 at 100% clock cycles. I got no problems with em. I even sprang for the 3500 XMS 2.0 for my Chaintech. runs great at 4-2-2-2.0 at200 FSB (top end of BIOS).

I think UB is confusing Corsair with Crucial. I just ordered some Crucial 2700. It's supposed to be made from 6ns chips. I should be getting it on Tuesday. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Um pardon me ... but doesnt Crucial tone down their cas latency to enable them to offer lifetime warrenties ? Reason i say this is because ive seen Kingston do that very same tactic.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here, Sepal. Corsair has fast latencies and a lifetime warranty. I just see it as Crucial (and Kingston with the exception of hyperX) following the strict JEDEC specs.

These are samsung 3200 cas-3 chips.

So useless for overclocking.

Micron 3200 chips are on there way... they should OC better.

What looks to be the first review of Crucial 3200.

As Holst said, it uses Samsung CAS3 chips and from the above link, it looks like suckage to me. Hopefully things will get better when Crucial puts Micron chips on their boards but something tells me it won't. I had high hopes for this memory.
