8k3a+ & AC97 sound...Game problems??

I have problems with medal of honor spearhead ingame SFX sounds but with music o_O

No problem with other games? o_O

I had small problems with Unreal2, updated the drivers, all went away.

I have 3.40, but I see they are at 3.40.1 now.

You're not the only one having problems with Spearhead.

I finally got it to work by:

1)updating audio driver to "a3401"

2)went back to 30.82 video driver

3) in the video driver I put a check in open GL use fast mipmap filtering and use up to 10MB of memory for textures.

4)run dxdiag>sound>move sound acceleration slider to "Standard". (sounds like some people have to move it "basic")

Maybe I went too far but at least it works now and I got through it without crashing back to desktop.

don't forget to download the patch 211 for spearhead.

I'm glad I bought that game used for $15 because it sure ain't worth the $45 asking price new. A lot of fun but a lot of aggrivation too. It's makin me think twice about EA in the future.
