<5 FPS in 3dMark2003

Hi all,

I've heard some good and bad things about 3dMark2003, but was slightly puzzled with quite a few tests running at somewhere between 1 and 4 frames per second on the counter.

Would this be normal behavour for the following system, or should i be looking for a bigger problem?

8RDA+
XP2700+
2x512 XMS3200LL (matched pair)
Albatron TI4680 (8x AGP Ti4200 turbo)
Win XP Pro
DiamondMax Plus9 160Gb

If the tests don't like nvidia thats fair enough, but am still kinda in shock that they were so bad... I think the overall score was around 500

Thanks

500 seems a bit low.

What do you get in 2001 as 2003 is a bit suspect.

Hmm, from what i recall about 6k in 01SE, at work now so can't test it... Not much higher than that if it is.

Would have thought with your rig you should be getting at least 1200 in 3dmark03 and 12000 in 3dmark01.
What drivers you using?

Latest offical of everything, (again not at the PC so can't get versions), apart from bios, which is still the standard install, i'll flash to the latest tonight and see if it makes a difference.

I misspoke.

You should be getting better numbers than that...I am over 10k in 2001se...with a lowly GeForce3!!(overclocked, of course) and a 2100+ at 2255mhz on my 8rda+...no vdd mod fsb is at 187, not as high as many others, but a 500mhz o/c is still nothing to sneeze at!!!

My 8RDA+
2100+ @ 2400mhz, 12x200
Gf4Ti4200 OC'd
2x256 OCZ 3200 rev2

will do 2189 3DMark 03
and 14995 3DMark 01

Thanks for the feedback... I thought my results were a little low, especally the 01SE

Are there any suggestions straight out i should try? Or come back when i have 3305 installed and can see what versions of other drivers are running too?

These guys never run 3dmark at stock speeds.

Your score is slightly low, but it should be simple enough to get you upto speed.

500 for 3dmark2003, amd 6000 for 2001??? Something wrong there...

Look in my sig at the top PC, this gets 1150 in 2003. Thats on a GF3 Ti500 with minimal overclocking!!!!

BIOS update might make a difference, but not much. Not sure what else to say. Just the usual, may sure you only whats needed to run it running, and close everything down.

Good luck!

Err, I'm hoping some people are about who can help.

Went for the Alt-F2 update method, set bios settings so nothing was overclocked, newly formatted disk, 3305 .bin file on it, did everything automatically, about 3/4 of the lower far filled up, and computer reset.

Now i get a 01 code and a funky siren effect.

Am guessing naff 3dMark scores were better than where i am at the moment.

Have tried holding down insert to get into bios, no luck, and have cleared the CMOS.

Any ideas for how to get around this would be mostly appriciated... Then after that suggestions why my score isn't too good in the benchmarks

Hope i've not just killed it

Thanks
