Epox USDM is Evil

From day one this software never works for me, no matter what version I use or how many installs it always come down with these errors. It also shuts down and freezes what ever program I have running. I think it is evil and should be avoided. Why its on the installation CD is just beyond me. I try to use MBM but I dont like it because it lies a lot...for example I always have to click update CPU in order for it to read my CPU speed correctly. Epox please whats up....????:

USDM works fine for me, when it starts....

Its in "Startup" folder, but on every boot, I get

"USDM Could not start" (OK) [then another popup]
"USDM could not find driver or something (OK).

If I then go to Start menu and run it from Startup, it works fine...

I had no problems with USDM and my former 8K3A but with the new 8RDA and after a clean install those error happen to me too and I have Win2000 so XP isn't that evil...

I don't know if the version 3.1 has the same problems but that version, besides from being much older, it's just ghey... I really never liked it since the times of the 8KHA that I had.

It's a shame since I like the user interface in 1.07 and it doesn't use many resources in contrast with MBM.

v3.10 working fine here. I can't wait to "upgrade" to XP/SP1 so I can start having problems.

I got version 3.10 and xp and the way I have fixed the could not start service is just to reinstall over top of it again again e.g install twice.

The past couple of times I d/l MBM I let it install but chose not to open the readme file or to open the application itself. Then I clicked START> all programs> MBM> MBM5 debug mode and ran that. I then had to click "OK" 21 times when prompted , then it runs great . Right click the icon down in your taskbar and choose dashboard and settings , in the "GENERAL" section set "the interval time with which Motherboard monitor should work" to 10 seconds , and wait that 10 seconds after opening up the dashboard to see if your cpu is reading correctly. If you enable "show cpu usage in system tray" , you will always have that showing . ( good to see how hard the cpu is working.)

Probably a bit late now, but I had exactly the same problem caused by one fan only when I connected its 3rd wire sensor to the MB. Don't know why it occured. Have since moved the fans around a bit and have the speed sensor hooked up from the same fan (but getting power from a molex) and its fine.

Update- just noticed it was doing it again so I removed the speed detection from the offending fan and its fine now. Assume the speed detect on the fan is playing up and sometimes giving back a zero result.
