divx poked by directx9 under win98se?

DirectX 9 destroyed my ability to play divx files smoothly on 8rda+ I hope this post saves some good entertainment.

with everything else constant loading dx9 creates jumpy playback. the actual issue may be in some other code but dx9 sure brings the issue to the surface. i've seen the issue several times on dx9 beta and now the redistributable version too. directx8.1b does not have the same issues. dx9 is not removable i think. if you like your divx collection and dont feel like doing a full reinstall to watch them dont load dx9. this is my oppinion-it may well be incorrect.

Send a message via ICQ to sirtoby

why do you even have dx9 installed.. most games are still running dx 8, i.e. not even 8.1 features..

just tried that but no luck. ??? this issue has been plaguing me for a while. haven't tried too hard to fix it now that 2k pro/dx8.1 on partition 2 has sorted the issue for the moment. I haven't even tried dx8.1 on 98se lately.
