I don't think it was meant for the 266/266A. Remember, it was written before DDR even existed. I use it on my old Via SDR board. To the best of my knowledge, these newer MBs should have the setting in the BIOS to enable 4way interleave so it shouldn't be necessary, but what do I know ![]()

you know more that me. I didnt know that there was an option in the BIOS. Thanks I will look for it. I was just wondering because the website said that it could be used on 266 but I wasnt sure about it.

It is possible to enable bank interleave on all chipsets from VIA 693a onwards.

So Im guessing that it doesn't come enabled from Epox? Is there a switch in the bios? I really dont know much about it but I read that the program basically turns on a switch in the memory chip that enables the Memory Interleave. So if a program can trun it on Im assuming that the Bios can. Or maybe there is some reason why Epox cant have that option in the bios. Well, anyway thanks for your post.

That WPCredit hack was for older chipsets if the bios didn't have 4-way interleave included, like my previous MVP4 board. It gave a healthy boost to memory scores ![]() Yep, those were the days, using WPCredit and WPCset to hack the bios for max performance. Most modern motherboards (like the KT266 and KT266A) including the Epox models don't need hacks to the bios in order to get the best performance settings. All of the important parameters are in the bios - look and you'll find them. - 4 way interleave, 8 burst length, CAS 2 etc. - the works!

There is some great posts by "Mushkin Rules" who sets out a procedure for setting the bios up the best. http://www.amdmb.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=79836 Quote from posts: Other settings: For Power User in Memory Setting (ofcourse if your DDR is of excellent quality): go to "Advanced Chipset Features" in bios menu. Goto "DRAM Clock/Drive Control" and set these options (page 4-8 in manual): 1) System Performance: Turbo 2) DRAM Clock: 133 Mhz 3) DRAM Timing: Manual 4) SDRAM Cycle Length: 2 5) Bank Interleave: 4 Bank No.5 has this sort of effect that your after I think.
