Epoh 8KHA+ and bios chip L Hi, I'm new to this forum but, as soon as I read some posts, I realized this is the best forum around for epox owners thanks to you all hardware enthusiastic. I'm going to buy an Epox 8KHA+ with a couple of Corsair PC2400 or Crucial PC2100 ram modules and I'd like to know if there is any problem with mobo with bios chip "L". There were many posts in other forums that marked those chips as faulty and the ones to purchase "N+". Can I ask which is your opinion about? Maybe Epox tech can figure out something... ![]() Thanks in advance

Since Epox will be offically releasing a new bios revision soon, the warm rebooting issue will no longer be an issue that you will have to contend with. I have already downloaded and flashed the bios with the new beta bios revision and it seems to have eliminated my warm rebooting issue at high FSB speeds. Paul.K P.S Besides the warm rebooting issue (eliminated now) its a peach of a board. Go get them high FSB speeds........

thanks! I eventually found a great board for epox mobo. I'm saying this because I got a bit confused reading about 8KHA+ comments... but I realized 95% of problems complained are due to user error or completely faulty boards... now I'm self assured ![]() Thank you all, I'll continue to read this forum as it's very interesting ![]()

There never has been any probem with any specific letter code of chip - just a lot of hearsay and gossip in webforums (although not this one for obvious reasons).

Dividers question for Epox Rep. Hello Epox Tech. Here is the question that I beleive everyone wants to know: 1. Does the current 11/02 bios have the 1/5 divider? 2. Does the current 11/30 Beta bios have the 1/5 divider? 3. Will the new upcoming soon to be released bios that is supposed to allow for up to 200FSB have the 1/5 divider? THank you, Mike

Welcome to the AOA forum handler. The Epox Tech is only here to assist you and others with Epox-related problems. Since he is an employee for Epox he will have certain policies to adhere to, therefore he may not be able to disclose certain information relating to Epox products. So handler he will probably not reply to your questions you have posted....and yes everyone is very curious about wheather the 8KHA+ mobo does support 1/5 and 1/6 dividers.... Paul.K P.S It is believed that the KT266A chipset does not support such dividers.....

KT266 cannot support 1/5 PCI divider. Dividers are as follows : <119MHz = 1/3 >=120Mhz<>210MHz = 1/4

dividers I assume when you say 266, you mean 266 AND 266 "A". In either case, thank you very much for the help and your reply. Mike

KT266 and KT266a are one and alike in all respects besides the fact that KT266a has twice the bank address capability (8bank) of that of KT266a - hence the increased performance.
