Heatsink SouthBridge

I have the 8RDA+ and i have the Copper Vantec fan on the North bridge.

does the stock heatsink fit on the Southbridge with the pins.

has anyone tryed.

I have the rev 1.1 with the A1 stepping.

It depends what version your board is, but it will fit. Some people said they needed to grind a little for clearance with some surface mount component and others didn't. Personally (having the vantec same as you) I used the passive copper heatsink from the kit. I don't know if more Vdd makes the SB hot but atm its not.

im using the larger copper heatsink on my Southbridge too.

I was told it does nothing. if the Epox stock NB one fits i would put that on with some AS3

i have go to that site, did the mosfets cooling with the heatsinks

look at his picture, this guy used the pins on the southbridge.

By the looks of it he did same as me and ground a little chunk away inorder to utilise the pins.

I don't know about v1.0 boards but if you have a v1.1 then hacking is the only way.

The holes for the pins are pitched exactly the same as the NB and therefore will be compatible.
