Unmountable Boot Volume!
well ive had another few problems with the 8RGA+

now after a few days of blissful probelm free running i get the error "unmountable boot volume"  this is the second time its happened.

Is it going to be a dodgy hard drive, or motherboard or Memory.

??

unmountable_Boot_Volume is a Windows XP problem.

Microsoft have a hotfix / update / whatever for it.

Anyways.. to get rid of it boot from your WinXP CD, choose the Recovery console, then enter "chckdsk /r" and then "fixboot". (without the quotes of course).

cheers ive done chkdsk and it seems to run fine.
ive got winxp sp1 installed and it says that it contains the update for unmountable boot volume.

ive also disabled caching, as it says that it causes a problem.


see if it happens again.
