A Northbridge lesson learned.

Couple of weeks ago I took off the stock NB and put on a Zalman cooler. Previously I had been able to hit 215 but after that I was struggling at 200. At the time I put it down to another stick of ram and running dual mode.

I've just set up watercooling as well so I took the chance to check the contact. This is what I found.

And the zalman. As you can see virtually no contact at all. Lapped the northbridge and we're now back at a comfortable 200. Just thought I would post this in cast anyone else has been having problems after "improving" the cooling. Totally my fault.

The new C1 (A1) NB seems to be finally flat so I don't think I need to lap it, it doesn't do 200Mhz FSB though, currently running 195.
Now I have to solder that 1k Poti on again I think
