tv-out for 8RGA+?

Is there any tv-out bracket for the 8RGA+ or would I have to get a separate videocard if I wanted this feature?

I remember when they first came out ET was trying some various options on this which may eventually become for sale through epox's website? But in all honesty I dont like TV out features or at least not through my radeon to my 36" Widescreen Phillips :clown:

it's just that I'm planning on building a HTPC.. so the 8RGA+ would be nice with all it's integrated features.. escpecially with the integrated graphics since the computer wouldn't be used really for any gaming.. but I obviously need the tv-out for a HTPC..

I guess I could get another motherboard, for instance 8rga non-plus and get a separate graphics card.. but in my opinion that would be just a waste if I could get integrated with tv-out.. since more cards = more heat and restricted airflow..

yeah me too, i was just gettin to buy the msi board when the epox suddenly arrived in my local shop. i just grabbed it
then onli realized it has no tv-out but has got 2 vga out. anyway i won't regret it, this board is damn good

if u really need the tv-out, then no luck. else get the 8RDA+ + an agp card? but the msi board without soundstorm one is much cheaper i think

Europe's rather short on HDTV at the moment...

We got as far as having stereo audio, Composite, S-Video and RGB on a single SCART connector. Alas no graphics card manufacturer seems to bother putting a suitable RGB out on their graphics card. RGB over SCART gives a much better picture than Composite or S-Video.

yeah, it'd be a lot more expensive to get motherboard+agp card instead of the one with everything integrated.. and as it will be a HTPC I'd like as much as possible integrated.. and as you understand I need the tv-out.. no need to have a computer that will play movies that wouldn't have tv-output..

Áedán: yeah..that was what I figured.. as I haven't seen any HDTVs around here..

It's also why I have a standalone DVD player rather than a HTPC. I've found that the difference between RGB over SCART and S-Video over SCART is noticable (even on a 26" TV). As that kind of thing bugs me, and I haven't found a graphics card that can do RGB TV out, there's no HTPC.

If I had a graphics card that could manage RGB TV out, then I might have gone the HTPC route, if I could find a system compact enough. (Like VCR or DVD player sized)
