hi flytek i have slowed my cpu down to 11 x 200 and so far it has started every time so do i have to do the high vcore shutoff mod so my computer will start up so i can gain higher speeds or is this a fast as it will go big al

should i up the vcore settings at 12x200?? not sure what you mean by reset instead of insert??

| what i meant is if you leave your Vcore set up @ 1.872 as per your first post when running at 11x200fsb does problem return? or do you have to have 1.872Vcore And 2.4ghz? sounds like you reset the cmos with a jumper in order to get going again. holding insert when powering up forces your fsb to the fsb jumper's default setting allowing a failed overclock to be booted without opening the case. pressing delete thereafter will get you into the bios where you will be able to reverse any recent changes.

| with the v core at 1.872 and running 11x 200 it starts no problem i can alter the v core at 2.4 ghz but what should it be?? never new about the insert key at start up i always used the cmos jumper on the board

| nice huh. you only have to change the one setting that pushed the system over the edge. how can it be the Vcore shut-off if you can fix the problem without changing the Vcore. it must be a cpu issue. try 11.5x200 and maybe settle there. it should still be faster than any off the shelf cpu for a little while.

| ah her in doors has just remembered this problem only started after windows update if she remembers correctly there was a driver update for the cpu xp 2400 could this be the problem and if so would rolling back the driver work i checked the driver and it is not a digital signed driver and the previous driver was i think i will roll back the driver and see if it works

hi that seems to be the problem the old driver was 5-1-2600 and the new driver is 5-1-2600-1152 i have now rolled the driver back to 5-1-2600 and run 3d mark 2003 switched computer off for 5 min and it started no problem so its the old saying IF IT ANT BROKE DONT FIX IT never thought it was epox fault for one minute
