Up at six to do laundry, after three and a half hours sleep and no alarm clock. Sometimes ya just gotta get something done. Even lazy people need clean clothes.

True. But I don't need to wash them as often.

Me wash them often? Oh, the shame of it! Mount Wash-less is only five feet tall now, victory!

Concerned about our financial situation? Maybe it's time for torchlight and pitchfork parades on Wall Street? I think some folks had a parade in the same spirit, yet wisely left the hay forks back on the farm.

Christmas decorations in the malls already? Are retailers concerned about the size of their hauls during that oh so important season? Yes, they are, pocketbooks aren't jingling with surplus coin of the realm nowadays!

Might be better not to jingle your pocket, you might stand out in the crowd soon enough. Eep.

I think most people think this is a economic depression. I think it is a Cultural revolution. That we have not yet begun to be spun upon our heels and launched into unforgiving futures none the less full of promise....We will have to patyfor our excesses. Yet human genius is just beginning to blossom

How long did any sensible person think a culture based upon conspicuous mass consumption could last in a finite and closed system which depends upon a certain rate of recycling to maintain itself?

Anyone ever live with a fat person on a diet? If you love them you help them count the pounds while you forgive and forget the temper fits! ":O}

The times may be right for a Cultural Rev... but I think circumstances will have to become much more severe before A Great Leap Forward is tolerable for the masses. Crikey, is this China's history or our future?

Is China still referred to as "The Middle Kingdom" by its natives?

I missed the Beijing Olympics entirely. The still pics from the opening ceremony were spectacular. Anyone figure out how they were running around the yellow globes--nearly upside down?

Mirrors? No wait! Smoke and mirrors!

Don't know how they did it, but people running around a globe nearly upside down was extremely impressive!

It was astonishingly wonderful George. there were recessed tracks in the globe on each side of each runner with lines attached at the waist. there may of been more to it , but I was able to see that much while watching... magic in it's effect! ":O}

Me miss something really cool like that? Sigh. The runners must have been very strong to make the feat work so well.
