Mm... What's going on, nVidia?

Anyway, no problem with 2.41 drivers here running with Win2k SP3, maybe the new drivers (2.41 and 2.42) affect WinXP only?

Nvidia only pulled them to save the hassle of letting thousands more people d/l the drivers and have problems.. im sure they workin on them right now and the next drivers should be good to go ( for the most part )

Except for the SW IDE driver , everything else is workin well off of these new drivers and im keeping them installed

I da know. I installed right over the old 2.03's I was using XP is working fine even with the SW IDE installed. I must be lucky

i have the 2.41 and i have bad sound major crackle noises

myamdstockisup, I did the same thing. Everthing works good so far (knock-knock).

I installed the 2.42's right over top of the 2.03's and no problems here either...***knocks on wood*** no problems with sound or IDE..(still using Windows IDE driver) and my 3DMark2K3 scores are up over 300 points! (Could be the 3.4 Cats I installed at the same time though)

The biggest problem has only been the SW IDE driver ( the special IDE driver were suppose to be using for our chipset) ..

A bunch of us installed it only to find that certain games that required a CD to launch , would no longer launch anymore (BF1942 is one of the games)...

For some reason it wouldnt not read the CD upon launch only , tho the game CD was still read by the drive ...

I think this was only one of the few diff problems people had.....nothing major unless your a gamer

I installed 2.41's less the SW drivers right over 2.03's and lost a lot of I/O speed, installed 2.42's and my system started crashing. Tried to revert to 2.03 again and I my system became so unstable I could not boot from a cd or into safe mode. I knew my hardware was ok since i dual boot 98se/XP and the system runs fine in 98se.

Had to follow the instructions recently posted on the nVIDA website to completely remove all the chipset drivers and do a clean re-install of 2.03. Still my IDE performace is very low, things load up in 98se 3x faster.
