temp of cpu alarm going off

the temp of my cpu is starting slowly to go up
after buying my computer in october the temp was 43 degrees
in november it had crept up to 45.
Now after ghostdumping the system suddenly it's 49 creeping up
on 50 degrees.

1.is this normal ?
2.is it safe to set the alarm to 56 degrees/turn it off ?

I have not overclocked my system but i have set the bios settings to turbo/optimized without changing the voltages.

I am a "normal user"! so please don't make fun at me!

well..

Assuming that all fans are spinning, and that you haven't added anything new to your system, I think you should check two environmentals-
1. Is the PC tucked into somewhere with poor air flow?
2. Have you turned the heating on\ up as the weather has got colder?

The temp of the pc is linked to the temp of it's surroundings.
