Thumbs up 8rda3+ simply amazing...

After a month of burning in at 200x11 i finally cranked it up to 230x10 stable, primable, playable. Ram craps out after 235 at 2-2-3-7. Id like to keep it as tight as possible so i didnt try to loosen it up anymore. 230fsb is good enough for me This is with no mods whatsoever so im a happy man.

Vcore at 1.8, vdd at 1.8, vdimm at 2.9.

Ram at 2-2-3-7 sync @ 230fsb

Just a lil note to the people that had constant crashes/reboots etc... Its just a matter of some bios selections and knowing what your doing

Wow

Just a pair of questions: what do you mean exactly by burning in at 200x11? Does it mean, you tortured your system 24/7 one month long with some kind of toast program?

And do you think you overcame the infamous 8rda3+ prime lockup issues with higher vcore or maybe you didn't have any at all?

Yeah basically priming and playing bf1942/unreal like mad all month long

The lockups were a daily occurence in 1st week i set it up. I was ready to quit and get a new mobo and switch manufacturers for good. Changed some irq settings and increased vcore/vdimm/vdd a notch up and everything fell into place I dont know how many times i had to switch jumpers and use the insert/del key method... The constant c1/01 alarms... BUt in the end it was well worth it

oh and another interesting fact. When i 1st got this board it wouldnt even do 166 stable at 1.7 vcore. Now i can get 210fsb at 1.7vcore so the burning in phase definitly helps. I can run high speeds at almost default volts which was impossible to do in the beginning. I believe this applies, theoretically to all hardware.

I have to agree with nOOby. The board seems to get better after a month or so. I can run much higher fsb now than I could when I first got the board. Don't under stand it but I agree

Nice one n00by. I'm so tempted to try mine again rather than RMA when you see the successes some of you guys are having.

Most people seem to be having the lockups/reboots but they should not immediatly think RMA. Its really a matter of finding the sweet spot in bios config for each persons system. I learned this the hard way but well worth it

I am using the very 1st bios (04/02/2003 6A61BPACC-00) that came with board. I dared not touch any other ones since this one is working so well for me.

It's nice to hear someone got it going good.

Mine was just the opposite. It worked great for about a week then started rebooting in the middle of games.

I went back to default bios settings then tweaked everything slowly (never overclocked), tried different bios versions, different video drivers, different pwr supply; memmory. Nothing seemed to help!

I couldn't get a refund after 30 days so I couldn't afford to wait. Had to send it back.

I'll be giving the NF7-S a shot before too long and see if I have the same problems.

I disabled video to palette and set agp frq to 66. Set ram to either spd or 100 and ram at optimal. Thats basically it.

May work for some and it may not... Might be psu problem, might be board undervolting... Give it a go Good luck

lil update

Well i built me another 8rda3+ combo with 2500+. Straight outa the bat booted up wonderfully no problems whatsoever. Overclocked it to 2100mhz default volts on air with the crappy AMD stock heatsink. Temps at 39idle I love this mobo Rev 1.1 with 1st bios. Paired it up with some Adata-450 sticks and alls well too.

With some boards maybe. I mastered my 8RDA+ & 8RGA+ by knowing the nforce bios selections inside out.

My 8RDA3+ rev 1.1 started very well with a 230 MHz fsb and no problems. That was until I put my PCI cards in and they all went nuts. The OVP kicked in at 1.8 vcore which was ridiculous. I didn't want to void the warranty by destroying the OVP, so I sold it to a stock user with no pci cards & got a different board which I'm very happy with.

If someone had told me I was just using the wrong bios settings I would probably have tried to kill them for the impudence.

PCI latency at default of 32 i believe. And the IRQ are disabled for both palette snoop and assign irq for vga. The rest are on auto.

Yeah that is so true. According to manual agp conflicts with one of the pci slots. So you have to configure it in bios or leave the pci slot free.

I can get 193fsb stablex10.5...but at 1.825 vcore =/ Anymore than that and it becomes a bit unstable but ill blame my pc3000 hyperx.

IIRC and unless you're reading a different manual to the one I read....it states that there are shared slots with the AGP and not as you say conflicting slots.
