Lightbulb stuttering in UT2K3

I had a problem with UT2K3 stuttering.
Its stutters perodically every 5 or so seconds for about 0.5 seconds and then resumes. Often it degrades with time so in the end it stutters more or less continously.
I had it a few times before but it always went away after a cold boot.
Then I bought a new drive and plugged it in and it started doing this all the time even after cold boot. I have tested a few BIOS even the newer ones but with no luck, so I am back using 3129 now. Tested the system on regular speed, different settings in BIOS none helped. After several hours of testing different stuff I roled back the IDE driver to 2.03 from the 2.41 version and so far so good. I still dont know what was the reason to the stuttering but it looks like it helped.
IRQs that are sharing are
20 MCP audio + USB
21 IDE + Nforce audio + USB
22 NvLAN + USB
(crazy stuff to expand the number of IRQs and then still stack them all on same IRQ )

8RDA+ @ 200Mhz
XP2400+ @ 2100Mhz
BIOS 3129 (fastest one yet?)

Try doing a search in the forums under shuttering. I'm sure you'll fine an answer, as I remember reading one.

I had exactly the same problem. It is the IDE sharing with audio. To save repeating myself look here:

A newer BIOS with A4 optimizations should assist with this - unfortunatley your love affair with 3129 may have to end as a result .......

Thanks for the replys.
I tried BIOS 3507 (from epox.nl) but had the same results (still stuttering), does that include A4 optimizations?
I saw that epox.com.tw had a newer BIOS but it is not ZIPed and I like to be able to check the CRC before I flash since it could get corrupted on the way over the net.
The problem was the Nforce 2.41 IDE drivers 3.40. Aparently that driver in combinatoins with having installed a new HD and maybe the IRQ sharing caused the stuttering. I reinstalled the Nforce 2.03 MCP2 IDE driver and the stuttering disapered
