vdd mod my 8rda, dissapointing oc.
ok yesterday i finally got a hold of my friend to solder the resistor to vdd mod my 8rda(not +). it ws already running at 11*200 @1.7 but after the vdd mod, wat do i get? 208.....8 more FSB!!!!!!????!???ARG i thoguht i would get at least like 12 more. my friend said about tradin my rams with him cuz he said corsair doesnt mix with 8rda's. should i? i m thinkin of getting abit nf7-s rev 2 from excaliberpc. is nf7-s compatible with corsair XMS3200C2? any know issues? i m goin to soon get new watercooling parts. runnig on koolance right now. plz help!!!!!!
amd 2400+ running 208*11 @1.775V (ARG!!!!!)
2*512 corsair xms3200C2 (burned in for 2 weeks)
epox 8rda (vdd modded 1.8-1.824, nb cooled by iceburg, sb by zalman)
TTGI 520W runnin firstname.lastname@example.org email@example.com firstname.lastname@example.org (full load)
Koolance (the full tower one) just using stock cpu block. 4 fans.the top 3 all blowing in. 2 intake 2 outake for case.
WD 80G 8mb cache.
maybe you need more Vdimm...
Whats the problem above 208Mhz FSB?
If it just freezes or reboots it could possibly be your mem or CPU - only if you get screen flickers and flashes you can be sure its the mobo/Vdd...
Also try lowering your mult and relaxed timings like 8-4-4-2,5 (the 8RDA series doesn't like CL3 at all)
I have 2 X 256 XMSPC3200C2.
It passes Memtest at 205 MHz fsb, Vdimm 2.77, timings 2/3/3/9.
It will not pass Memtest Test #5 at 210 MHz FSB, even with 2.9Vdimm and CAS 2.5. Multiple errors reported.
I didn't test other FSB frequencies between 205 and 210.
Per Sandra memory benchmark, the sweet spot for Tras on this set is 9, highest memory bandwidth.
Twinmos seems to be the popular answer for 8RDA+ memory compatability.
XP1700+ @ 220 X 11
2 X 256 BuffaloTech PC3700
Antec 430 PS
ATI 9500 Pro
Try that or up the vdd voltage a bit more. It's likely that the board is holding you back, not the ram.
site link removed, use www button below sig.
Suggest running VDD @ 1.80 vdc. Also lower your multiplier down just a little. 2400+ has issues above 2250mhz sometimes. I'd use 10 for now to increase FSB, then tweak the multiplier up a half if you want.
