the *Best* bios for 200FSB on the 8k3a?

get substancial mem bandwidth drops at and over 200FSB even with wpcr register tweaks. 198 scales properly.

Maybe some of u @ 200+ FSB could share what bios u use and why.

using 3414 beta now.

Just curious as how your HDD's are handling the high FSB? Ever had corruption? Frequently?

Laz.

been to windows Q 202 without corruption dunno what they did to this baord it just doesnt have the issues i had with kt400 over 185. Must the lack of fast cpu decode maybe?

Just get mem benchie drops over 200 otherwise seems like its fine with 200+.

may or may not go for 200 again, might just hold out for a kt600 board to get above 200.

well...

at first my scores werent very high....210 FSB doing bout 3004 sandra and around 2994 @ 220. i checked my ram settings and saw i had my burst length @ 4 instead of 8. started back from 200 to 225 and saw the scores increase. 200 FSB now does 3004 and 225 3380. currently i am on 166 testing the 3409 BIOS for performance. later tonite hopefully i should have some figures for u.

as for HD corruption.... corrupted my HD once...after setting it to ATA66 its been safe

I take it you run your HDD's off the normal IDE channels, 1 and or 2 and not off the Highpoint RAID controllers?
Thats encouraging, maybe I'll venture further than 166 then and see where my Sammy PC2700 tops out.

Laz.

Excalibur PC 0310 upmw, chip is incredible!

U can choose stepping if it cost a lil more than the rest its a good one =)

may be getting a Barton 2500+ to play with in a few weeks from a friend.

I'm using 3409 for 200fsb...... and my Samsung PC2700 (TCB3-CTL) is handling it with ease. I've noticed that the performance of this bios @ 200 is comparable to the 2812 @ 185 though...........

here you go...

3409 BIOS Benchmarks

this BIOS is a bit slower than the 3414 BIOS. I am going back to that BIOS for further testing....

so in general looks like the 3409 and 3414 are the better 200FSB bios's, guess i may just bump my multi back down and find my FSB limit then stead of pushin cpu so hard.

Yeah, I haven't tried the 3414 yet, but if it's as good as the 3409 is as far as my flexibility goes, it's a winner.

well i popped my chip out and reconnected the 5th L3 giving me 12.5x195 rock solid at 1.85vcore 2.43. looks like i have some higher multis to play with now to oddly enough.

195 is not bad even have 1cmd enabled! real smooth.

Its getting me bout the best mem scores ive got so i may just call it close enough to 200 for me =)
