| I've made some small changes: 8/26/2004: 8rdavcore 0.8.8-dev1 * ------------------------------- * - Added sensor PWM values to controls until AutoFAN is finished * - Fixed CPU speed calculation when multiplier is .5 * - Fixed SMI recognition when BIOS returns function code on success So if it doesn't detect the SMI interface you can try this version.

| Sorry if the question was already asked, I tried searching in the thread but I found nothing; I want to suggest to add a control to change Mobile's multiplier. I already know that it's possible with other tools (cpumsr) only on via and sis chipsets, but .. it's really impossible to change it on NF2 mobos?

| I've got a mail from someone in which a NVidia-tech says it should work... but I've never actually heard that someone got it running and my own tries are only freeze the computer. Maybe only a bit more in the chipset need to be flipped, but because there's no documentation and no "original" nForce2-mobile board (I don't know a notebook with a nForce2 chipset) you can compare with, it doesn't work.

| Hasw, Great software, I love it... ![]() But I would have a sugestion for a new feature, I have absolutely no idea how hard it would be to implement, but it would make wonders for my HTPC. OK, so I was wondering if it would be possible to add a trigger to the AutoFSB so that it would activate a specific profile when a certain program is started... The AutoFSB is good, but as my system is running in low power/heat mode and my TV-Rec software starts to record a show I get a lot of dropped frames in the beginning, (before the autoFSB getts FSB to 200). If it would be possibble to trigger autoFSB as the program starts, the system might have enough kick not to drop frames... Anyways, it was just an idea... Keep up the good work Hasw Oh, and an other question, do you think that you will be able to get the Vcore on the A7N8X-E below 1.45v? It's already good considering that the bios allows only 1.575v but a Vcore of 1.2v would be great... (The manual says that the Vcore could be adjusted down to 1.1v <- any truth to that? )----------------------------------------------------------------------- 8RDA+, XP-M 2400+ (1,35v) @ 1529-2400MHz (1,175-1,62v), TwinMos (2x512) PC3200, 9800Pro @ 205/205 -> 460/390, HTPC: Antec Overture, A7N8X-E Dlx, XP-M 2500 (1,45v) @ 1263-1900MHz @ 1,45v, 512MB PC3200, GF2MX400 @ 50/90, Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 120GB + 160GB, Hauppage WinTV Theater

| Yes, that should be possible. I added it to the todo-list. You can set the lowest possible VCore value in the controls.ini. Search the section for your board and replace the 1450 with 1275. Tell me if it's working.

| Hasw, No, it didn't work... I wasn't able to lower the Vcore under 1.450v, (or 1.475v as I noticed with MBM5). The Vcore didn't hintch after 1.450v MBM5 shows Vcore 1.47v for anything I set... I tried it with ASUS BIOS 1011, 1012 and 1012Über, no go. So does this mean it's a lost cause? or do you have any tricks up your sleeve?

| @EPoX Tech: Thanks. @Petrix: If the BIOS don't like values < 1.450V there is no other way until I can access the hardware directly. Not 100% sure, but I think it's possible that the available range depends on the CPU default voltage.

| Hasw, Ok. I have a CPU in the system with a default voltage of 1,450v so one would think that the lower voltage range would be available. But that CPU is an XP-M so the bios has a hard time identifying it. I think I have a 1600MHz duron somewere that has a default Vcore of 1.5v it might open the lower voltage range,(if there is one). I'll try it at some point but for now I think I'll keep on enjoying the flexibility of my 8RDA+ .Thanx Hasw for a remarkable software.

| Seems to work on the 8RDA6+Pro board. However, one thing I have noticed with 8rdavcore-0.8.8-dev8 (Not tried any others) is that the indicated VCORE setting is 0.25V LOWER than the actual VCORE output produced. This was measured at the CPU regulator output with a multimeter.
