| 8RDA3+ C1 Error = NO POST. Need help My System: Epox 8RDA3+ Athlon XP 2600/333 512MB Corsair XMS PC3200 C2 Saphire/ATI 9800 Pro Settings 200FSB x 10.5 Antec Truepower 400W PS Problem is I had to clear my bios (using the jumper). Now all I get is a C1 post code. I had this happen once before and I got around it by sticking in a PCI video card and an old stick of crucial PC2100. I was able to boot, enter the bios, and reset the bios to defaults and put hardware back in and everything worked fine. Well I dont have any PC2100 memory any more is there anyway I can reset to defaults in the bios without having to stick in old memory? I'd really hate to have to buy a 128mb stick of PC2100 memory to put on a shelf for occasions such as this. Thanks for your help. Difranco PS. It's useful to note that I've tried all memory slots.

| I have had the same problem with the 8KRA2+ mobo. I posted this a while ago but had no luck in solving it til last night. It was a faulty CPU fan! The monster 90 fan i bought with a the mobo and CPU has only the sense wire in the 3 pin molex plug. It draws its 12v from an inline connector. Now when trying the sytsem with another fan with all three wires connected on the 3 pin molex plug, the mother board booted. I then connected the monster fan back to the system and it booted fine for a bout 30 mins until it shut down and refused to boot. Now im not sure if the problem lies with the fan itself or any fan with only the sense wire connected. Anyway, try another fan. see if that does the trick

| c1 is a memory error, try removing it, and reinstalling it in slot 1, press down firmly, if that does not work, try the other two slots?

| Are both systems using CORSAIR memory? I know there was a special bios for those using Corsiar memory for the 8RDA+, not sure about te other..............I have had six 8RDA/RGA systems, but all with Twinmos & Buffalo memory and no problems like that.

| I'm not sure about the 8RDA3+, but with the 8RDA+ you can reset to default safe settings by holding in the reset button and typing the "INSERT" key a couple of times right after pushing the Power button. This works when you get the British Police car siren from overclocking too far. You really don't want to be connecting a cpu cooler fan to the motherboard headers for power, just connecting the signal wire ( usually yellow) is ok to get a reading, in a pinch you can splice the power wires to a Molex connector , or wait to get the correct adapter. http://www.bigfootcomputers.com/Merc..._Code=2900CGWA |
