Call Of Duty Sound Problems with 8RDA+

HI Every time i play COD i get crackling really bad. I cant even hear the gun fire over it. I turned down the sound quality from 44hz to 24 then 11hz and same problem. I got the same problem in MOHAA too. I have the Epox 8RDA+ motherboard with nforce 2.45 drivers.

Is this an onboard sound problem, i never get problems with Raven Sheild, CS, Generals, Max Payne. Just some games.

Is there any other drivers i can try that will make it better.

THanks

You could try the Nvidia nforce drivers just released (3.13)

The 3.13's are a waste of time for me - as with all previous UDP's, I still get naff performance in games like UT (the original UT that runs fine on a Pentium 200).

I'm quickly losing faith in NV. I wish I still had my 8K3A

Squall- not sure whats wrong with your system but both myself and my son have no trouble with UT with either an 8RDA and 9700PRO or an A7N8X with a ti4200.

Reduced susceptibility to audio glitches under heavy system load
Taken from NV release notes for UDP 3.13. There's nothing wrong with my system except for the drivers. If it's not the drivers, then it can only be my 8RDA that's faulty as I've replaced everything else at least once. I even tried Win2K for a bit... it's always the same though

After updating to the 3.13 the sound did get a lot better .. After i pay off my 9800 i will look for a Sound card, this intergrated Sound is really pissing me off. But the Crackling did go away.

I did not install the IDESW drivers .. mainly because im affraid from the last time i had them installed it really messed up my computer.

I only have sound problems when using onboard sound.

A cheap sound blaster card is all you need for good quality sound in games.

I have this problem intermittently on my 8rda+
I havn't got around to it yet but i'm told that proper cooling on the southbridge helps to fix this.
or buy a sound card - seems crazy though when the mcp-t is supposed to be so good
