The UDMA problem on IDE 2, limited to Win XP? I run Windows ME and I'm not sure if this problem with the IDE second channel not recognising certain devices (like DVDs, CDROMS) as UDMA 33/66 is exclusive to Win XP.
I've noticed that in all instances the bios recognises the devices correctly as UDMA33 upon boot, but people are having issues with incorrect recognition within the OS.
If I run the via miniport (VXD) drivers, I get the same problem in Win ME, as identified by the via idetool.
Normally I just use the via VSDs from the 4-in-1 packs, which simply patch the Win ME IDE drivers rather than replace them like the miniport ones do.
Will I suffer from the same problem?
