I donĀ“t have a ATi card (mainly due to the stability issues with their drivers) but try to dissable the Fast write option, with some luck that could make a difference.

What do you mean by crash?

Freeze?

Go back to desktop?

Shutdown the computer?

Jumbled display?

I wish people would stop using "crash" it means nothing.

crashing to desktop and having the ATI Driver tell me its trying to recover. But fixed it now so far. slapped on a better fan and applied some AS Ceramique and all good. wondering if it was a cooling problem.

You using the Cat 3.8s? I believe it was posted elsewhere about the 3.8's causing the core of the gfx card to overheat. Maybe try the 3.6 or 3.7s.
