8KHA+ mouse freezes ?

First I must say I am well pleased with this board (both the 8KHA+ and the forum).

Once or twice a day my mouse and keyboard will freeze.
I must shut down> unplug and replug the mouse then restart to get it working again.

I am using the NewScroll Wireless mouse.

It will usually happen when I'm playing a game or right after I reboot.

I have noticed that when it happens right after I reboot, durring the POST, just before Windows loads, I see:

update ESCD-Success
Verify DMI Pool Data- update success

It only seems to say this when the mouse doesn't work after rebooting.

I had this same problem, quite a while ago, with an MSI 6191 board but I upgraded before I ever found the culprit.

Any ideas
Should I get a new mouse?

if you can get a "el cheapo" mouse to try in its place that would definitly tell you if its mouse related. what brand is the mouse? or is "newscroll" the brand name

NewScroll Wireless is the brand, as far as I can tell. It's the wireless mouse that comes with the SystemMax systems, if you have ever seen them.

I will find a cheap mouse, as you have suggested, and see if I still have the problem. (why didn't I think of that?) Maybe this is a good enough excuse to get one of those nice ones with five buttons and all that.

I have read quite a few threads in several different forums and I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem so it's not very common.

I am sure that someone out there has a solution.
