Issues with 8RDA+ onboard Lan?

Are there any known issues with the Epox 8RDA+ onboard Lan? I have a rev 1.1 board that is voltage modded and overclocked to 10 x 200.

It has been running perfectly stable for months, however I haven't used the onboard LAN in awhile.

So I tried it last night any it is not able to recieve any data. It sends out data (or tries to) but nothing is ever received back. I have the machine just connected to a hub with another machine on that hub, too.

If I throw in a realtek 100Mbit PCI nic it works no problems - I can ping the other machine. But the onboard LAN doesn't ever receive any data..so the other machine can't ping it.

Has anyone else had this issue?

If it doesn't work, then you might try entering the other (last) 6 characters of the address into the BIOS.

I just checked my system and don't have the MAC address synchronized. I installed the O/S with a Kingston NIC PCI card in order to download SP1 from the MS Windows Update site. After all the patches were applied to the O/S, I intalled the nVidia 3.13 WHQL drivers and and removed the Kingston NIC. I then switched my networking connection to the nVidia LAN. I use a router/hardware firewarll between my system and my cable modem. No problems as far as I can tell, but I have two questions:

1. Should I go ahead and synchronize the MAC address in the BIOS?

2. When viewing the Network Adapters in Device Manager with the "Show hidden devices" option selected, I notice that there are still two devices listed for the Kingston NIC (Kingston EtherRx KNE111TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter w/icon faded and Kingston EtherRx KNE111TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter - Packet Scheduler Miniport w/o icon faded). Should I manually uninstall these devices?

Thanx in advance.

mrestine

If your lan works well , don't bother trying to uninstall those other drivers/devices . I did pretty much the same as you did on one build and messed up my winXP and lan connection trying to disable and remove the old pci nic items entirely .
Lately I have burned the nvidia lan drivers or all of 3.13 to cd and installed them , that way , one does not need the pci nic .

Good Luck .
