8RDA USB went out

Heya,

Yesterday I unplugged and replugged my USB mouse into the front of my case and suddenly the USB stopped working. When I plug the mouse in, the red light will flash very briefly and then turn off. Both of my front and rear USB ports do this. I believe something is wrong with the motherboard since I have tried another USB mouse and it also does not work, and if I put a USB->PS/2 connector on the mouse the light stays on.

Does anyone know what happened? Did the USB just curl up and die?

Primarily I run Linux, but I have windows on another hd in this computer also. The USB acts dead in any of the OSes. When I plug the mouse in its like it just isn't getting any power- besides the brief flash of light when first connecting it the power stays out. My other USB mouse and keyboard also aren't working.

I tried flashing to the newest BIOS and it didn't help. The board has worked without a problem for the last 4 months, is it just messed up?

check in bios
see if usb is set under ver1.0/2.0
if so, try setting it only to ver1.0.
