Setting-up 8KRA2+ For AMD XP 3000+

Hi All.

Mainboard: Epox 8KRA2+ (28/10/2003 Bios).
Processor: AMD XP 3000+ 333FSB.
Memory: 512MB Kingston @ 400Mhz

I have just got a Epox 8KRA2+ motherboard, and i am trying to setup my AMD XP 3000+.

The computer boot's ok, But the motherboard will not clock to "2167Mhz", it only clocks @ 1700Mhz

I have updated to the latest bios.

I am not sure how to set the mainboard up.

What am i doing wrong?

I think I have sorted it now.

The CPU clock was set to 133.
So i thought to my self i will try 166, and see what happends.

And it works, it now shows AMD XP 3000+ @ 2167Mhz.

Dude get rid of that bios ASAP!!! Flash back to the previous version (epoxusa.com). I`ve had SERIOUS problems when overclocking where the bios corrupts and the system is dead. Found someone who could flash it back for me (3 times). Flashed back and system is 100% stable. Honestly be carefull with that bios.

Well I've had absolutely no problems with that BIOS at all.
Only thing I don't use on the Board is the Audio & SATA(yet)

Thumbs up 200Mhz fsb and above is good!

Yeah You'll love running It at or above 200Mhz fsb, See My Sig for More info on this subject. Of course good cooling of the NB Chip is essential, Otherwise well I don't need to spell It out, I hope. And that's Why I use a Zalman Gold NB Heatsink with AS2 under It, To go faster I'd either need the New Zalman Blue NB Heatsink or go with Water Cooling.

zoom this is the 8KRA2+ so FSB overclcok are not going to be as high, also it comes with a large Copper NB heatsink already
